Scholarships and Fellowships
MHF offers renewable scholarships to enhance literacy skills through research and writing, while simultaneously developing heritage and ancestral awareness.
Scholarship applicants must be U.S. residents age 18 or above and submit the following by May 1:
- Verification of needy status with ONE of the following documents:
a. A copy of notice Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) eligibility. Visit https://fafsa.ed.gov/ for information about how to apply for FAFSA; (The FAFSA notice is required for college students); or
b. A copy of notice verifying eligibility for reduced-rate meals, food stamps or summer feeding program.
2. A heritage essay that is free of grammatical and mechanical errors.
3. Proof of admission to or currently attending an accredited college, university or career preparation program anywhere in the U.S.
4. A completed scholarship application.
